Ride MetroLink to campus or clinical sites? Here’s what to expect as some trains run with one car instead of two.
Starting Oct. 3, Metro Transit will pilot single-car MetroLink trains through spring 2027, testing whether the change can deliver efficiency and maintenance savings without sacrificing the rider experience. The pilot will roll out in phases, and riders should occasionally expect trains with only one car instead of the usual two. Riders with mobility or vision disabilities should plan to board at the front of the platform in case their train has a single car.
