Incoming WashU Medicine students had the opportunity to meet another new face on campus Thursday, Sept. 3. Bruce D. Levy, MD, who began his role as executive vice chancellor for medical affairs, the Joseph Erlanger Distinguished Professor and the George and Carol Bauer Dean of WashU Medicine July 1, held a meet and greet to get to know the incoming class of 2026.

While there, Dean Levy met students from all programs across WashU Medicine.

During opening remarks to learners, Levy emphasized the importance of connection — with professors and mentors, peers and, when the time comes, patients.

“It’s my pleasure to welcome you to this event, and to our community here at WashU Medicine,” he said. “You’re here because you’ve made a choice to spend your time on this earth focused on, working with and trying to heal the human body. We’re so glad you’ve chosen WashU Medicine, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll do and who you’ll become.”
